Templates & Guides:
There are different ways to proceed through STEMBounce: WHOLE CLASS (optimal for Gr.K-3 OR modeling the process for older students) OR SMALL GROUP (optimal for Gr.4 & Up) Note: This process could also be done individually, as it should be tailored to the needs of your class and individual students. STEMBounce Teacher's Guide SMALL GROUP TEMPLATES: The following templates can be printed or shared online with students to complete throughout the process. They are geared to the Junior/Intermediate (Grade 4-8) level. A mentor text or a visit with a community expert is a great start to get students thinking about "Meeting a Need" or "Solving a Problem" in real life situations. A mentor text is often a great way to introduce "needs" or "problems" faced by some of their favourite book characters. In the example below, Scaredy Squirrel by Mélanie Watt was used as a starting point. Community partners are also a great "Minds On" activity to begin a discussion.
